Yes, it is! I checked Zara's queue and there it is! I loved being able to stay up late on Monday nights to watch that show. That's because my mom had to work overnight on Mondays and my dad was way more lenient with me.
The "Kate and Allie" dvd is a delight! There are a mere seven episodes and I watched four last evening.
The first episode where Allie goes on a date with Kelsey Grammer (AKA Beast and Frasier) is very silly. Who, but Allie, could have so many beige dresses!
My favorite of the four was the "cake baking" episode which employs the classic sitcom story arc where the characters start a business (in this case, the baking of fancy chocolate cakes) and all starts out well (fun in the kitchen, money in their pockets) but soon enough the business grows like a wicked weed and it is no longer good times.
Overall, the dvd is great if not for character and plot development (of which there is none) but rather for the 1980's fashion, hairstyles, and the cool fact that these two divorced women are living together with their kids in Greenwich Village.
Oh yeah, the first episode has a couple jokes about Allie being in the "closet." Mind you, she is literally in a closet, but it is funny...
The friendship of Zara and Andrea (together, Zandrea!) is as varied as the range of letters between A and Z. Andrea is a committer to plans, and plans must be made. Whether it be a quiet dinner in or a weekly bar night with the ladies, Andrea likes to fill her social calendar. Nights in might include reading a book or a New Yorker, but would rarely entail tv watching (although a well-groomed Netflix list is a must). She is a member of many frequent flier "clubs", but due to her democratic nature, refuses to cash in for the upgrade, instead hoping for that elusive (just waiting for those additional 15,000 miles) future trip around the world.
Zara is going to update her information when she finds the time.
